Distriplast Celebrates First Corrugated Sheets Made from 100% Recycled Materials

Polymers

This week, the team at the Distriplast factory in Dunkerque, France, came together to celebrate a remarkable achievement. Ahead of schedule, they successfully established a production line that manufactures PP corrugated sheets made entirely from recycled materials.

Sustainability has long been a core focus for Distriplast. The company has already implemented numerous processes and techniques to reuse production waste in a circular manner, earning certifications for their efforts in recycled material incorporation, energy management, and industrial and management processes.

However, this latest breakthrough marks a milestone. Distriplast can now eliminate virgin plastics from a range of its products, a step forward in its sustainability journey. “Since this year, all our product ranges have options with recycled content. Now, we focus on increasing the incorporation rate”, said Olivier Lisowski, Technical Operations Manager. "This breakthrough allows us to create thick gage corrugated sheets from 100% recycled plastic, but it is just the first step on our way to creating 100% recycled versions of our entire product line, up to the thinnest product", added General Manager Vincent Boggio.

The B.I.G. innovation, R&D and sourcing teams proudly supported Distriplast in this groundbreaking project, which will undoubtedly contribute to greater circularity across the entire group.
